A Restaurant Built on Heritage, Cuisine & Community

A Restaurant Built on Heritage Cuisine Community

Founded in Winnersh, Wokingham, Club India was born from a shared vision: to create a welcoming, elevated space where authentic Indian cuisine could be enjoyed in a warm, contemporary setting – complete with a vibrant bar, garden spaces, and a touch of something truly special.

Meet Chef Awanish Roy – Our Chef Patron

At the helm of Club India is Chef Awanish Roy, whose career spans over 20 years across some of the UK’s most celebrated Indian restaurants. His style blends traditional recipes with modern presentation, offering diners a rich culinary experience that’s both grounded in heritage and full of personality.

Club India is the realisation of a lifelong dream. It was inspired by Awanish’s childhood memories of India’s old social clubs. Spaces filled with warmth, laughter and the smell of home-cooked food. The restaurant reimagines those gatherings for a modern setting. It’s a place where conversations flow, flavours tell stories, and every guest is welcomed like family.

With Club India, Awanish has created more than just a restaurant. It’s a space that brings people together, where regional Indian dishes are celebrated and reinterpreted with creativity and care. Whether you’re joining us for a quiet meal, a celebration or a drink at the Madhushala bar, you’ll experience the food, the energy and the heartfelt hospitality that define his vision.

Awanish’s passion goes beyond the kitchen. He’s a storyteller, a mentor and a familiar face to our guests. His vision is simple: to bring people together through unforgettable food and genuine connection.
